This program is about gamifying your real life.
Some of the best games seem to give little instruction… just like life. So what do you do when there are no instructions in a game??
You Experiment.
That is what gameplay is about. You discover the rules as you play. And the rules are what make it a game! Here’s a key component to life that is difficult to see: Easy eventually becomes Boring. Difficult can almost always be made fun.
This program, however, is difficult. That’s what makes it fun! Think about it, what makes something a game is that it’s hard! It’s easy (and boring) to put a little ball in a hole in the ground. But make a guy stand really far away and hit the ball with a thin stick, and you have created rules that make it more difficult and more fun. Then it’s a game we call golf. (Admittedly, Golf is not a fun game for everyone, but you get the idea).
In the same way, Discussing, articulating, and evaluating your beliefs and convictions is hard. We simply don't have a solid, neutral, and predictive system for human behaviors... Until now.
Succeeding as a consciounaut requires you to be a self-starter and have some grit. Difficulty should be something you enjoy- like a well crafted game. Embrace a challenge and you’ll make it in here. Quit easy, and you’ll fail.
Quitting is the only real failure. Until then, you’re just leveling up and developing your abilities. But you must also recognize the world around you is a part of your story, and it's changing too. You're going to have to also keep tabs on that to truly be a Master AnWiMoTo player.
Wanna Game Like Grandma?
Take a trip back in time! We developed this on real 5.25″ floppy disks back in the early eighties when we created the first exploration game using all of the programming power available at the time. Back then you had to read the manual!
psssst… need help? (there’s a reset button to reset the game)
AFTER EXPLORING VINTAGE GAMING
We are gathering feedback and response times and checking for anomalies. We also examine determination and tenacity. Tenacity is one of our most valued attributes for new recruits.
REFLECT:
1. How have videogames changed since the 1980’s (50 years)?
2. How is a text based game different than a 3d based game like modern games today?
3. Have you ever tried a VR headset and VR game? How different is that from a screen and joystick?
4. Can you make any predictions about the future of gaming and computers based on the past? What do you think your kid’s games will be like? How immersive will they be?
5. Have you had to read a manual for a videogame before?
